HP Notebook - "No Audio Output Device is Installed" icon at the bottom has a X on it.

At some point after a v10 update, my audio output disappeared. I had this problem shortly after I purchased the laptop in 2017 and HP support remoted in and fixed it.  No of course my wartney has expired and it is happening again.  I have tried everything on line with advanced troubleshooting and nothing has fixed it.

Noise only comes out through one side when wearing headphones

It seemed fine throughout the whole day until I plugged in a pair of headphones. I actually used a pair before the incident, and it seemed fine. However, when I plug it in now, noise only comes through the right side. I tried other pairs as well, but the same thing happens. I reinstalled my audio drivers and nothing has changed.

One observation I noted is that when the ground wire in my headphones isn't wired to the jack, I can hear from both sides, but it only produces mono sound. When I pinch the ground wire to the 3.5mm jack, the right side produces stereo sounds, but the left side is completely silent.

Is it possible that the audio port on my computer broke?

Sound on internal speakers echoes

After completing a windows update the sound on my internal speakers started echoing. I have tried

- completing sound diagnostics and troubleshooting

- uninstalling the update

- resetting sound to factory settings

- uninstalling and re-installing the sound driver.

I have a HP Spectre x360 convertible 13ae laptop. It uses Realtek High definition audio SST and has Bang and Olufsen speakers.

I have looked for the "enhancements" tab in sound properties - but my computer does not have this setting available .

If anyone has a solution I would be very grateful.

No Audio Output Device is Installed | Yellow Warning Sign on High Definition Audio Controller

I was working on Premiere pro when suddenly my screen froze and I can't do anything but to forced shutdown my laptop. After I turn back on my laptop, I notice that my audio is gone and my sound drivers are also gone. I've been troubleshooting since yesterday and installing realtek audio drivers, but I couldn't fix the problem. I was wondering It might have to do with the "High Definition Audio Controller" under the system devices on Device manager because there is this yellow warning sign on it. I tried to update it but It says I have the latest driver.

I look up the details and I give me these:

Hardware ids:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A348&SUBSYS_123C1462&REV_10
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A348&SUBSYS_123C1462
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A348&CC_040300
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A348&CC_0403

I tried to update my display adapters but it says I have the latest version of it.

I also tried to reset it but it's saying "There was a problem resetting your pc".

Can anyone help me fix and get back my audio?

bluetooth droping down every few seconds

Hello,

since a few weeks I have been having this issue with my bluetooth headphone (which I use a lot since I work from home). bluetooth devices connects good and fast. but when listening music or something else, every few seconds the audio CUTS to zero volume, then the audo comes back gradually back where it was. (its like drop outs) that happens every few seconds. I though It was a headphone issue, I bought a new one, and same thing its happening. (both headphones work great with my phone).

I have tried:

removing and reinstalling bluetooth devices

search for the lastest driver (was already installed)

remove any ther electric device around (in case was any source of interference)

a bunch of DIY fixes on YT related to audio configuration

talked 2 times with windows support (1st time they ran a program that finds issues, and didnt found any. 2nd time they did nothing.)

So, I was thinking may be an issue with the current installed driver. I have seen this issue in several forums. but no ways to fix it!

Thanks

internal speakers not working but headpones do

My audio was working fine until yesterday.  Now I don't hear anything through the internal speakers but I can hear when I plug in headphones.

HP 15-cw1063wm Audio gets super quiet after a few seconds

So I just bought this laptop today and after a few seconds of audio it goes super silent with everything at 100%.

Driver changes dont solve anything and the B&O Audio options dont help either.

Laptop speakers are completely unusable like this. Cant hear anything but a whisper from the speakers.

HP Omen 15 uneven speakers

Hello. I found an issue with my speakers i'm not able to solve yet, and it is the left one is quieter than the right one, and all the sound seems to moves forward to that last one mostly.

Already tried updating audio driver to the latest version (realtek 6.0.8746.1) also checking audio balance to see it was correct, and even got the latest bios update, and not even that solve the problem. Also the speakers seems to start with a decent volumen and a few minutes later it lower both of it for no reason to a not so acceptable level, not altering at all the volume dimmer.

It seems to be clearly a software issue, due it also reflects on earphones plugged in, but can not find a way to solve it.

No Speaker Audio on Spectre x360 13-ae0xx

Hello all,

I am sure that a question like this have surfaced many times over my time while using this laptop, but it seems that I cannot find the answer to my problem from the previous posts similar to mine.

I currently own a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx purchased roughly  two years ago in 2018. I currently have Windows 10 Home, version 1909. The device is no longer covered by any warranty

This problem started roughly 2-3 days ago unexpectedly. The speakers on my laptop seemed to stop working while in use (listening to music, etc.).

My first attempt to alleviate this problem is to use the audio troubleshooting offered by Windows. The troubleshooter suggested that I should reinstall the audio driver, Realtek HD Audio SST. After restarting the laptop for the first time in this process, the sound does come back for the first ten minutes and then it disappears. I was unable to replicate this intermittent audio in later attempts.

Then, I tried to use the HP support assistant to resolve the issue. I was suggested to perform an audio diagnostic test by HP. Everything seems to be fine after the diagnosis.

Since there seems to be no progress in solving this, I resorted to restore my laptop, using system restore, to a date when before this problem started. This did do the trick, but not permanently. After a while, say less than 12 hours of laptop use, the audio disappears once again. I tried to do the things mentioned above, but to no avail.

My last resort was to perform a factory reset. I opted to only wipe the apps and personal files, but not the last one (complete wipe, I believe), since it was going to take some time for the last option. This worked for some time, and then the problem persisted again. At this moment, my speakers are not producing any audio.

Other methods that I have tried, based on reading other posts, but to no avail:

Uninstalling and reinstalling the audio driver manually, through HP Recovery Manager, and through Windows troubleshoot.

Downloading and installing the latest audio driver from Realtek's website.

Updating Windows, and any updates suggested by HP Support Assistant before and after updating

Performing an audio test in the Hardware Diagnostics (I am unsure what it is called, but it is accessed upon pressing F2 when booting up.) - Audio works fine during the test

Virus scan via Malwarebytes (this was before the factory reset) - all clear except for one file (it was an adware or PUP).

It seems that the audio is fine if I connect a bluetooth device. Only when I use the internal speakers on the laptop is when I am unable to hear anything.

Any suggestions or feedback would be great. Please let me know if I need to provide more information in regards to this matter.

High gain and noise

Cannot see internal Sound Source in BUTT (streaming app)

Hi

Long time bug bear for me and hoping the internet can help!

I would like to stream audio using BUTT ("Broadcast using this tool").  When I start the BUTT app and look at the Audio Device setting I cannot see the internal sound card.  All I see is 3 items 1) Default PCM device, 2)Microsoft Sound Mapper, 3) Microphone.  BUTT can 'hear' them - they all pick up input from the microphone. There does not seem to be a way for BUTT to listen to the sound routed to the internal speakers.

A possibly associated issue is that if I attach a USB soundcard then - 1 I can listen to sound from that, but BUTT again cannot.

Hoping you can help

Lorenzo

HP Pavilion - 15-cw1005la Audio gets super quiet after a few seconds

Hi,

This week I installed Windows 10 update 2004 and today I noticed the sound volume goes super silent with everything at 100%. Also, it seems to fluctuate with volume becoming high, and then after a few seconds comes again super quiet.

Thanks

a speaker problem on hp Pavilion 15

I'm having trouble with scratchy/distorted audio on hp Pavilion 15 ec00 and am wondering if this is just inherent to the design or if my machine has a hardware problem.

When my machine was brand new out of the box, it sounded like the speakers were blown out when playing certain frequencies such as the Windows 10 notification tone. I did the standard troubleshooting by the windows troubleshooter and checked my drivers if there is any driver update but the drivers are updated.

When audio plays I can feel the laptop vibrating and rattling it seems like the strange noise is coming from the right speaker more than the left one.I know this is a laptop and I'm not expecting the world's greatest sound, but the distortion is really annoying. Is this just inherent to the hp Pavilion 15 ec00 or am I just unlucky ? I've tried updating drivers and the problem persists. Headphones are fine. It's definitely the external speakers on this laptop that are vibrating around.

Volume lowers down but in the audio panel seems ok

The volume in my laptop decreases while in conference or watching videos.

No Audio Output Device is installed

Hi,

Following a BIOS update, after a prompt  from the HP support assistant, the audio device has disappeared.  I have spent a few hours trying to get this re-installed but with no luck.

I have tried

Working through the virtual agent suggestions - no change

Reinstalling the driver  via the HP Recovery Manager (many times) - no change

Downloading the driver and installing (many times) - no change

A system restore to before the issue arose - no change

I just son't know where to go next, I wish I had ignored the HP Support Assistant!!

Can anyone help I really need some human support 🙂

Thanks,

Jane
