Spectre x360 speaker volume too low

$

I have a new Spectre x360 13-4103dx. Having a little trouble hearing
the sound from Netflix when the laptop is used tented, in bed, so that the
speakers are on the bottom of the tent V, and close to a blanket.
Sound volume set to maximum.
A little better in normal laptop position, with the front end where the
speakers are located is tilted upward.

Sound is much better with laptop on a desk. Best in normal laptop position.

Now this may sound a bit dumb, since, of course the blanket will absorb
some of the sound, but I got a few questions:

1. The speakers themselves are supposed to be Bang and Olufsen, but User Manual
is vague on this point. Driver is Conexant SmartAudio HD. Is there some other driver
I might install that would allow me to set the volume higher ? I see on the user forum
that many folks experienced crackling from the sound system. Not me. Not yet.
I also see there is a different driver on the support website -- a Realtek HD Audio driver.
Advice ?

2. Some attention has clearly been given to the sound subsystem. Does anyone know if
the speakers (on underside, front, of keyboard) are designed to project toward the user
of the keyboard so that they project directly downward in the tented position ?

HP 13 Microphone Sensitivity with Skype

Hello,

I just received this new HP 13t. I really do admire its sleekness in design and ease of access.

I have just installed skype onto my laptop. By making a test call to my brother, I have found that my voice was little to no hearable. I then tried with the skype test call to see if I could hear a difference in my voice input. There obiously was a problem.

I soon searched and ventured into the internet and forums looking for a solution. One HP forum had recommended to increase the booster for the microphone array and unclick the box for modifying the microphone in other applications. None of these troubleshoots seemed to help. I further searched and found a forum describing a user uninstalling his audio drivers which I did not really know how to do. Either way, the forum was inconclusive in providing a way to completely fix the audio-skype problem.

Is there a solution, update, application, or any other type of action that I can take to fix my skype problem? And will external microphone's work?

Thanks

After installing Windows 10 64 bit on my G6, the audio quality has been quite bad. I've checked both Windows and HP updates, and seems like I have all the updates. Is there a workaround to fix the Dolby Advanced Audio driver?

Hello,

I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC dv9730us with conexant high definition smartaudio 221 speakers.  After updating to windows 10 my speakers no longer work.  I tried uninstalling the driver with the intention of reinstalling it, however it will no longer allow me to reinstall it as it states that the driver or the device is now incompatible.  If anyone has discovered a fix or a work around for this issue I would really appreciate some help.

HP Probook 4530s Buzzing When Audio Plays

$

Hi.  I just accepted the Windows 10 update on my HP Probook 4530s and now the speakers are buzzing when audio plays.  The audio driver is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC, version 6.10.6433.0.

I had a similar problem in the past (pre Windows 10) and the solution involved disabling the HP Power Assistant.  However, I could not find that on my notebook to disable or uninstall, so maybe it's not there anymore (or just well hidden?).

I also tried to uninstall the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC driver, reboot, and follow the steps to install the latest driver, but it did not fix the issue.  I also tried to choose the "High Definition Audio Device" from the "update driver"... "browse my computer" option.  I got sound, but still the same buzzing issue.

I really hope someone out there has experienced this and knows how to fix it.  Thanks!

HDAX6210010 HP LAPTOP   NO SOUND LISTENING TO MUSIC ON  YOU TUBE

HP Audio Driver, newest version, for DV7-7115nr = 404 Not Found

$

Just wanted to report this issue so any HP people can fix.

For the DV7-7115nr Laptop, there are 2 audio driver downloads available.  One is version 1 and the other is version 6.10.6381.0

The file for the audio driver version 6.10.6381.0 returns a 404 Not Found error.  http://whp-aus2.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56001-56500/sp56429.exe

So the only one available now for download is version 1 of the driver.  Which is a little worrisome since version 1 seems quite far away from version 6.10.6381.0

If possible, please fix the link so the newest version of these audio drivers can be downloads.

Thanks,

John

mini 210 sound

$

Hi guys.

I have an HP mini 210 which I use mainly for internet when travelling but also for playing iTunes for house music when I am running gigs. Last week the light on the key that turns sound on and off stays permanently on. If I hit it, the O/S tells me that sound is toggling on and off, yet there is no sound from the internal speakers or from headphones if I plug them in. Device manager tells me the audio is fine, the system tray audio icon seems quite happy that it is controlling sound. You can see the icon toggling between sound off (with the cross in it) and on. I can supposedly adjust the levels. But no sound is coming out and the orange light on that key stays resolutely on. It makes me think it is not hardware but a software glitch. All latest updates are onboard.

Anyone encountered anything like this before or have an idea of where to look next?

Cheers

Kev

Pavilion Notebook beeping randomly

$

I bought a HP Pavilion Notbook yesterday, and I've noticed that it beeps randomly (sometimes two beeps, sometimes one) around every half hour (give or take).

I've looked into beep error codes but can't find the issue.

The laptop is running perfectly and I cannot see any other issue, apart from the fact that the beeping is annoying.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance Smiley Happy
