I was facing some audio distortion from a few days.Checking through the forums I came to know that one way to check if its a speaker problem or not is to check the latency.Checking latency by latencymon I have found out that acpi driver is the culprit.And there is no solution to this other than a BIOS update.So,I am expecting a BIOS update from HP as soon as possible.

Just purchased this machine and there is a continual aduio static and popping in the background when using phone jacks. We contacted your HP support and learned because this is such a new product that Microsoft does not have an update for at this time. Per your rep, it seems that the audio manufacturer, HP and Microsoft are aware of the problem but it all hinges on when Microsoft can provide an audio update / patch which is unknown. Tried two different machines, same model and unfortunately have to return both. Seems like a really nice machine but unwilling to live with this sound issue.

my sony dr-btn200 headset is connected easily with my smartphone
but, trying to be connected with my laptop is failed
So i;ve recently run into this probelm where when I open a video game, the in game sound is replaced by a buzzing sound. I was told that 24 bit sound would fix it, but while the buzzing goes away, all of the game's sounds are gone too. Since this is a laptop, digging into it to check for shielding and changing stuff is going to be very difficult, and I don't trust myself to do such things. I've also tried switching drivers and such, but no avail.
Any thoughts?

Hi. I am having issues with my new laptop HP250 office. I have downloaded a new softwear for vioce changing. I use this for fun and for games. I have used this before on other computers without issues.
When i right click the bottom right hand corner speaker logo on the computer, you get the recording devicies wording come up. Clicking this I get.
Microphone (realtek high definiitin ready)
Stereo mix (real tek high definition ready)
Screeming bee (the external sound vioce softwear I have installed) (default device is indicated)
The issue I have is even when the screeming bee logo is highlited by the green tick, i notice when i talk the little green speaker indicaters come up on just the micophone (realtec high def ready) Not my screening bee one. So I am thinking even when I have clicked saved done all I think is correct I still seem to be recording though the standard HP recording device, not my prefered one.
I have used it on skype test calls that way I can tell it is not working, I am getting nothing. I have used it by passing my screeming bee and just justed the standard HP one and its working fine. So its not the computer as such
I do not wish to compleatly delite the standard HP recording device, as I wish to only us this newly installed one now and then, so I would like to still be able to jump between the two as I need.
Is there something simple I am not doing to use my prefered recording device? Help please
I have upgraded my notebook pc OS from windows 8.1 to windows 10 Previously beats audio after upgrading in pc speakers it is been showing realtek highdefinition audio. I lost completly my beats audio experience. Please guide me how to correct this problem

I have an envy 15tQuad TouchSmart laptop hooked up to a Dell monitor. I always keep the laptop closed except when I boot up or when the monitor goes to sleep and I need to wake it up again. My sound was working fine and knew the default was the sound device on the laptop until I updated the audio driver a few days ago. Now, every time I boot up or if I have to lift the cover to wake up the computer, it changes the default speakers to my Dell monitor which doesn't even have speakers on it so I get no sound until I change the default back to the laptop speakers.
I thought I'd go back to the old sound drivers but that option is grayed out.
I did a troubleshoot for sound and got a message saying a change might not have taken effect so Windows fixed it, but the problem still keeps happening.
I'm using Windows 10 and have been since it's release so I'm not sure if this is a Windows problem or not since everything was fine until I updated the audio drivers.

I´ve got a Dockingstation for my old Compaq 6910p to connect the DS to my HDTV via DVI to HDMI.
Woks fine but there is no Sound. MY GPU is the Radeon X2300.
MY Compaq has no DVI or HDMI.
I dont wanna miss the digital Sound.
The DVI at the DS is a DVI Dual Link.

Habe mir eine Dockingstation für meinen alten Compaq 6910p zugelegt damit ich diesen von der Dockingstation via DVI (Dual-Link) nach HDMI an mein TV anschließen kann. (Laptop hat kein DVI und kein HDMI) Klappt alles bestens. Nur das mit der Audioübertragung funktioniert nicht. (ja es ist möglich von DVI auf HDMI Audio zu übertragen) Habe die Grafikkarte Radeon X2300 im Laptop. Hat jemand schon einmal mit diesem Fall zu tun gehabt? Das Probieren mit verschiedenen Treibern hatte leider nicht das gewünschte Ergebnis. Muss man vielleicht eine Kombination an Treibern installieren? Möchte ungern ein zweites Kabel (Anaolg) legen und auf den Digitalsound verzichten.
Vielen Dank an alle, die sich der Sache annehmen.

When using my head set I can normally hear myself a little which i don't mind, however something has happened to all my audio devises so i can hear everything my microphone picks up and this is either with my headset or without. Its really really annoying me and I can't stop it. Ive tried different headsets and the same thing occurs, i can hear myself. It sounds like the microphone is picking me up and other things and is then transfuring them back out the speakers that being the built in ones, plugging in ones or the headsets. I have looked at other question and other problems people have been having and they either dont make sense or they dont work. i havent tried uninstalling something from the device manager as i dont really know what im doing unless i do get a step by step way. I have also restared my laptop and that still hasnt worked.

I have a laptop HP 360 and my mute button no longer goes off and it flickers, I also have a status bar for teh sound that will not go away, as a result, I no longer have sound. I updatedd the drivers but nothing helped.

I have a question regarding the volume when plugging in earbuds. Sometimes I use the speakers of the laptop and put the volume very high. However, the next time i plug in earbuds or headphones, and press play, the sound does not auto adjust and sound plays through the earbuds at a very high volume.
