I am using HP 2000-2313TU Notebook PC laptop with windows 8 64 bit operating system. From the last few days i am facing some problems in audio..when i am opening my laptop the sound system is working well...but when i am not continuing any audio application( busy in some other work..)and after sometime say 20-30minutes when i am opening any audio or video file it is running without any sound..when i am restarting my computer again audio device works...if i am not using the audio files after opening my computer also this problem happens after sometimes when i play some audio files.
what to do..please give me some solutions..
sometimes i switch on the computer and the speakers are not working but upon restarting they start functioning normally....when i enter the control panel and try to test the speakers an error shows which is as follows
"this device is being used by another application.please close any devices that are playing audio to this device and try again"
dont know what this means

As of today, I have no sound. Nothing in speakers, or headphones. No updates have been installed recently.
I have pavilion g6 2103tu notebook. The issue is ,While i am playing any audio file, it freezes for 1-2 sec in between and the same for all videos also. Previously I had the same problem last year. The hp service person changed the harddisk. And after that the problem was solved. But again the same problem has started. please any one help me.
I feel stupid but the volumr kry mudyst be in a very different place on my current computer (Pavilion). I heard it suggeted it's only the F7 etc button, but surely not, that would be inconvenient. iS there a standard volume button/
I keep losing sound. I have reinstall google chrome eight times in two weeks, I have checked the audio and hardware from control panel and there is nothing I can find wrong. I can get sound for a while and then it just goes. My computer is HP Pavilion 15-e081sa Notebook PC

All of a sudden I cannot release the mute button. I have the / with a red circle around it.
I have tried everything I know and it still will not release.

I was watching a video in fullscreen when my dog jumped on me and I hit the power off button. The screen went black and the audio continued. Then I shut my laptop and the audio continued for 5 minutes before turning off. I then opened my laptop, logged in and the video was still playing but no audio, I turned my volume up: didn't work, I made sure it wasn't muted, I closed my tabs and re-opened them and it's not working. I'm going to try restarting my computer after this is posted. I'm frusterated because this isnt the first time it has happened. Also my computer takes a long time to open anything, I have to click ITunes atleast 40 times before it opens and same with other programs like that, and Skype automatically opens when I log in and won;t close unless I use task manager.

the past week my audio has not been working properly (no sounds at all). i'd be able to fix it just by uninstalling and then reinstalling the idt hd audio driver, and then it work fine, but the next day when i turn on my laptop again the same problem happens. i decided to install the update for the audio driver, thinking maybe that would fix the problem. but it didn't. same thing keeps happening, whenever i start my laptop, no audio and i have to reinstall the drivers (i have to reinstall the original driver + the update now to get the audio working).
im trying to find a permanent solution to my problem. i really don't understand whats going on. i dont remember my laptop going through one of those automatic updates the past week, and i haven't downloaded any programs either. i'm able to do temporary fixes, but i want a permanent solution to this problem.
Hi, I purchased a Pavilion Laptop a couple of weeks ago and the sound quality it terrible - even with £200+ headphones.
There is persistant static interference, the quality is dreadful and very muffled - I have given up trying to listern to music.
Is this a fault or just a poor quality sound card! The sound drivers are up-to-date and everything appears fine in device manager.

I've checked settings, control panel,etc and all say sound is 100. I have no sound. Can't find how to turn it on
Althogh the light and display no longer work, the actual MUTE and VOLUME functions appears to be working ok.
I have a HP 15-r011dx Notebook PC with windows 8.1 and when on youtube or CNN videos, the speakers carack and pop. The commercials that CNN play prior to the story are fine as is a DVD or my loaded music. I relly do not want to reinstall. I have had the computer 3 weeks and I am not sure if it has been there from the beginning. I have updated everything from HP including BIOS and have tried a different browser and adjusted volume levels. Windows has done updates.

When it boots the sound is perfect everything runs fine...
But when in use for a few hours the sound all of a sudden dissapears...
You can adjust the settings but no sound comes out of the speakers...
When you reboot everything is fine again for a period of time...
I installed the latest sound drivers from the hp website and still the problem occurs...
Anyone with the same problem or issue with this kind of model?

I did a total clean install on my HP laptop DV6150us. All work except the sounnd. Nothin is muted. Device Manager says all is working. No yellow exclamation marks.
Sound always worked on this laptop before.
HP website lists no Win7, 64 bit sounddrivers. So have can I fix this???
