HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC problem with microphone/sound card
Hi! Recently, my microphone stopped working. One day, tried talking into it with a friend on skype, and it didn't work. At first I assumed it was a problem with my microphone, cuz it's ancient. I reinstalled skype anyway due to other problems with it, and also got a new headset. I can hear perfectly with the headset, but in Sounds it says my microphone is "currently unavailable" and I'll get a message from Skype saying it can't detect a soundcard from my computer. I am unable to set my microphone as default as those options are grayed out.
I'm not sure what to do here, I suck with computers.
Additional info: Computer's running Windows 8.1. There were no changes made to the system to my knowlege. Troubleshooting does nothing. I don't use the internal microphone because it picks up the noises my computer makes (e.g typing, fan running, clicking, whatever) and no one can hear me over it. Drivers are up to date, also tried reinstalling them.
I have tried turning it off and on again. I have tried unplugging it and replugging it. I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas. Thank you.

HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 14 - Microphone & touch screen not working
I have a HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 14. Product No: D8P17EA#ABV. OS: Windows 8 Single Language 64-bit
Its touch screen & microphone is not working.
I did restore the settings and touch screen worked for some time.
But when restarted, touch screen again not working.
Microphone is not working at all, but speaker is working.
Many a times, while typing, number 3 is coming automaticly.
Request your support in trouble shooting this issues.

Sounds still coming out from the laptop speakers even if i plug-in a headset!!!!
Hi everyone...
I bought a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b001ss recently and I was suprissed to learn that there still sound coming out from the device speaker even after I plug-in an headset. I tried to update the IDT audio driver,thought it might solve the problem but it didn't...I tried to reset my laptop to its factory default settings,again that it might solve the problem but again,it didn't! I don't know what to do now...I thought for once its just a factory defect but my 3 friends who has the same model as mine got the same problem..it seems thateverytime I insert an audio headset the system doesn't recognise it..please help me solve the problem...you can email me directly to [edited email by Moderator]..thanks very much in advance to anyone who will reply to this..God bless you all. HP Split x2 low volume solution?
I have searched and found the question of low volume asked but no answers.
I have gone though all the settings options and nothing changes. There is sound but it is very difficult to hear even with everything set to 100%. The test sounds are a very little bit louder than any other audio.
None of the solutions for other laptops work either.
Is it just because the onboard speakers suck?

I have purchased BOSE Soundlink Mini Speakers and have spent hours trying to determine if I can use them with my HP 15 Touchsmart notebook PC. The model-specific website page doesn't even recognize the words "BOSE Speakers".
I'm desperate. I bought these speakers specifically for my four month stay in Mexico.

Num Lock & Mute Light

I cant't hear anything from my Hp Pavilion Laptop
Last two day, I was watching something with my headphones plugged in my laptop then i heard some weird sounds and after 2 mins while watching, the sounds went off. I restarted the laptop and try to play some music but I cant hear anything anymore. I did some research on how to fix that but it isnt working at all.I tried to use the speaker to try if it will work but no sounds at all. I cant hear anything even from my headphones. Please help me to fix this.

No sound from HP envy m6 1515tx after update
I have updtaed my windows as regular update but after that no sound from speakers. laptop is showing everything is fine and all sound drivers all working fine so whenever i clicked on scan for hardware changes in device manager menu then speakesr starts wooking fine so every time i have to make that step to enable speaker

Audio fluctuating while playing media files.
I have HP pavillion n-208tx laptop which I bought about 2 weeks ago. Configuration are as follows : Windows 8.1 32 bit,2GB Nvidia Graphics,1TB hdd,4gb RAM and DTS SOUND+ audio. I have been facing this problem from a couple of days. My sound is fluctuating while playing any media file in my PC including video players and music players. I downloaded Iobit Driver booster which says my Realtek Audio driver is outdated but when I tried to update it via Control Panel it said the latest version is installed. Please tell me what to do it is very irritating. Please. Do I need to take it to Customer Care?

Help!! my hp pavilion notebook will play sound only for the hp support assistant narrator

Before, it would not play any sound, now it will play the support assistant narration, but nothing else.
For a while, it has been playing sound every now and then, now it will not at all, except for the narration.
