Subwoofer not working

Since the last couple of days, I've noticed that my subwoofer no longer produces any sound. This began on Win 8. Then decided to update to 8.1 and still no dice. When I play a sound file from any player or music app, I get and audible pop from the subwoofer and no sound. All of my other speakers work fine. If I plug in my beats headphones or plug my speakers in, no problem at all. As soon as I unplug, there's a pop and the subwoofer does not play any sound. The crazy thing about this is all drivers are up to date. No device manager problems, no virus, no software isssues at all. I also have no enhancements tab in the sound properties. I've tried to un-install drivers and delete them. I've done a hard reset. I went to the bios system diagnostics and it said my system can't check the audio. I don't believe re-installing the operating system will bring it back. I've scoured the internet and these forums and have not found a solution. I've attempted suggestions from numerous threads and to no avail. Can someone shed some light?
