I've had this problem for a few months now and it's really annoying. When I boot my system the "logon" sound takes at least a minute or two to play and before that the system is practically frozen. Also when I play videos on youtube, sometimes they freeze for 20-30 sec before the sound plays.
I did a clean boot and the system ran smoothly, but the sound still lagged. I guess it's a hardware problem? Any advice would be appreciated 
I have HP Pavilion g6 2320 TX Notebook PC, When purchased the base OS was Win 8, after few days, updated to Win 8.1 single language.. every thing was fine and smooth for one year. One fine day, right corner of task bar got windows icon, sayind win 10 updates coming soon, if u want to upgrade please reserve it. After reviewing the features of it, i reserved for it.. Exactly on July 29 th 2015, i received all the uodates saying u can upgrade your system to Win 10. I did it.. later some days while watching movie, suddenly sound went off, i checked all the possibilities butdidnt work out.. even from HP also.. Then i thought, new upgradtion may requires some other drivers update.. days goes on.. suddenly system giving some type of problem that, Antivirus and Anti spyware ot working.. i checked all the possibilities but didnt work out.. I thought to reset the system to factory reset, by copying the recovery media on DVDs. Even after that, sound issues remains same, i contact Microsoft support and they are saying, better contact your manufacturers support. So could any one help me in resolving this issue..
No voice reception during skype calls. The contact's voice is audible but they don't hear my voice.

Since the Microsoft 10 update, I have problems. My most recent problem is my sound will not work. I have spent time with Microsoft and they cannot fix the problem, they encouraged me to contact HP, any suggestions? thanks
After some sort of update yesterday, I now have no sound. Have tried all sorts of troubleshooting suggestions and still nothing. Help!

I'm an office manager that "wears many hats" at work, so two of my duties include light IT work and office DJ. Hence my problem:
I connect to a speaker via bluetooth to play music via spotify, and had been doing so for 10 months when the sound suddenly stopped working. I've disconnected, rebooted the computer, restarted the speaker/s, reconnected, and everything says the music *should* be playing, as in the songs show that they are progressing and playing, but when I turn the volume up nothing happens. There is no sound.
I've tried multiple bluetooth speakers and none of them work, but when I play directly from the laptop speakers or a headset then it does. I've checked all the volume controls (to the best of my knowledge) and nothing seems to be muted.
Can anyone help?
After downloading the latest I Tunes update ( 16/12/15 ) , my screen now flickers on the I Tunes store tab . Everything else is working fine . How best can this be fixed .................... otherwise I will be getting a permenent squint !!
Whenever i plug my headphones into my laptop the sound continues to come out of the laptop speakers. Normally when i plugged my headphones in the laptop would have a message pop up saying i plugged a device in, but it has not for the past couple of days.
I have checked the playback settings and the headphones are not even an option, i have also tried troubleshooting sound problems and it never has found the issue nor says that there is an issue.
Do i need to get it looked at and have it fixed or can i fix it by myself and how?

I can't get any sound of the internal left speaker on my laptop. Both sides work in the headphone jack. I replaced the internal speakers with new ones - didn't solve the problem. I then replaced the system board - still didn't solve the problem. Anything else I can try?

After updating my computer to windows 10 I had no sound at all. Shortly after I installed a device driver and was able to restore sound but it only comes from the front speakers that are under my laptop. SOund no longer comes out of the Beats audio speakers on the top. Does anyone know how to restore my beats audio?

ive had some problems with my laptop built in speakers i was watching a video couple days back suddenly the sound went i dont know why i have updated all the drivers and checked bios im still getting no sound well i have had two sounds one for each day the first of the sounds was the windows menu but it didnt sound right as it was out. then today i got half thestart up sound then cut off no audio since. Whilst having this problem i have tried plugging headphones and external speakers in both of which on any other device work im getting no sound whatsoever. The mute button on my laptop when i turn it on it makes the speaker make a popping noise and i have just noticed tonight that my left speaker doesnt work but the right one is making staticy noises im just not sure what the problem is or how to fix it
Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, everytime I put my volume any where between 32 and 100 there is a very high pitch whine from my speakers, similar to the mosquito ring tones. The momemt I turn it down to 30 it stops. I have also noticed that when I play any sort of video there is an echo in the sound and the whining sound will happen at random times for 2-5 seconds then stop, even when at a 30 volume. Anyone else experiencing this? And anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

I have 2 new HP Probook 440 G3, a recently launched model. It came with Windows 10 Home. We use Windows 7 Ent SP1 or Windows 7 Professions SP1 in our environment. I did a clean install in either operating system in Legacy and UEFI mode but in all the case I have no audio. The multimedia audio controller driver seems missing even after installing recommended HP drivers and microsoft updates.

I have noticed recently that the light on the mute key doesnt work anymore however the mute key itself still works. Is there anyway to fix this?

G7 no sound from left side speaker or headphone during normal video/audio playback. Playback works fine when the test is performed so it is not a hardware issue. Tried balance which is correct, updated driver, rolled back driver, test which says good, so i dont know. please help.

I first bought this model of laptop apporx 6 weeks ago. It immediately became apparent the sound / audio is absolutely un-usable. Static and cracking in all audio especially noticeable from left speaker.
It is clear this is an known issue. What's more is if you are having the problems like myself and seemingly so many others we will get a cut and paste suggestion that we update drivers, or be sure windows is up to date, as opposed to a real answer to the actual problem. besides having already returned two previous models to best buy and sending this current one out to HP for repair the issue persist. I also recently spent 3-4 hrs in a chat session with a support specialist who's ultimate solution was to send it back to HP AGAIN. Because I am a working class consumer I can't afford to go another 2 weeks without a computer. Far worse is I am an video professional and now have a computer that is not suitable play content on for clients.
All these things brought me to this forum where I have found any number of canned responses with not one resulting in a resolution! I was very against the idea of purchasing an HP computer product, and was convinced by Best Buys staff that it was a solid brand. My fears and ideas about these computers has been confirmed and I cannot properly convey my discontent with this computer and HP's customer service around it. Next up I will contact a customer care rep tomorrow, who will undoubtedly tell me to send the computer in a again at which point I will need to decide rather to somehow go weeks more without out a laptop computer with the hope of it coming back working properly or to just settle into the fact i have been douped. SHAME ON YOU HP!
I have Windows 10 on my Envy TouchSmart m6 Sleekbook k022dx and I just ran some updates the other day; now, when I open Netflix, the sound doesn't work but it still streams the movie. I tried my iTunes and YouTube and the sound works on those, but not with Netflix. I tried updating all the sound drivers and doing diagnostics checks and nothing helped the problem.
