Audio Not working .. End point a duplicate???

i ust bought this computer and now my audio isnt working  i followed the steps in another answered question but when i open up the page to see if the settigs are all turned on and set to automatic the " Audio Service" isnt even displayed and when i try to start the Windows mulimedia one its saying that the end point is a duplicate .. HELP PLEASE! not a happy HP user 1 day in and its already screwed up
