HP 2000 Notebook pc with windows 7 has no audio after a system restore.

Okay you guys, so I thought I finally had alllllll this junk figured out. My computer is back up and running, I have a webcam again, and thanks to the uninstall of Norton and install of my beloved AVG my laptop is no longer trying to download the internet !  That, at least, is a YAY point.

Then, after about a trillion microsoft updates, I started trying to listen to a song.  I found I had no audio.  The original volume controls had it marked with the red X that basically says "hey tard! you muted it!" so I, being the intelligent person I am, unmuted and cranked the volume as loud as it would go. Still no change.

Next step, the drivers? So I go into the device manager and according to it everything is absolutely perfect and wonderful. no yellow 'you dont have this' or red 'are you sure you have this?' symbols. All the same, I clicked my laptop's Realtech High Definition Audio driver's update button just to make sure I had the up to date version, and what do you know? still no audio! :smileysad:

I need some help here guys, cause I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on with this thing. Hopefully I'll get a reply on this message. The last question I asked is kinda gathering dust, but that's okay cause i was able to fix it on my own. *norton issue mentioned before (I WILL DOWNLOAD THE INTERWEBZ!!)*
