i have a HP Pavillion G7 -1260us

i had a sound mixer plugged into the laptop headphone jack. everything was working great......till........suddenly it decided to stop working.
the laptop show eveythig is fine. sound driver is working properly.
did i blow a copacitor or some sorta resistor?
need help!!!!!!!
did everythig i could by reinstaliing the driver, turn off laptop and take out battery and hold power button for 30 sec. and even went to the bios. no sound came out of the machine when i bios.
