Bought a refurbed DV7 6B32US Pavillion, Windows 7, from Woot.com. Out of the box the sound is messed up. It crackles and has a lot of static. I have:
- uninstalled the audio drivers and let windows reinstall them
- completely remove the drivers from the system and then reinstall them from HP.com
- done a complete factory restore
- messed with all the audio settings
- run the laptop on the power cable (2 separate ones) and battery
- removed battery and held the power button to drain all power (did this to try and fix the battery charging issue because the battery didn't charge out of the box either)
My research through the forums resulted in a possible grounding issue with the motherboard?
Does this issue sound like something that can be fixed via software/drivers or is it a hardware problem and I should return the unit.
