Beats audio - terrible on m6-k022dx envy

So I bought this HP  envy m6-k022dx ( with beats audio logos on the top left  monitor side and speaker console)  late last week but to be honest this thing's sound output is so bad im about to return it to the store.   I noticed this horrid sound first when attempting to play music on Winamp over both laptop speakers and my external speakers specifically which have performed wonderfully for me in the past.

The first noticable thing is that the volume is flat no matter how loud or quiet a song is, it seems to attempt to dynamicaly adjust the volume so its always the same, meaning in acutallity im constanly hearing fluctiations of the volume though there is no significant volume range nor musically speaking no cd quality or even near studio quality range.   Secondly im hearing tonal bass an treble ajustments - either permanent or dynamic that distort the quality of the sound to the point that the music is unrecognizable as a entertainment product.  I cant use the Winamp equalizer as it seems to be block and the Beats Equalizer is not performing at all.   Songs are virtually unpleasant to listen to even on my external speakers or otherwise.  These negative issues dont seem to change significaly using any other music player.  I dont know how else to say to emphasise except It doesnt work, at least not for human ears.

Ive seen other similar reviews on similar HP products about this "Beats Audio" -  since buying this and now I am having some serious remorse over this purchase.   Is there anything i can do to rid myself of this awful audio product? For instance may i replace whatever drivers create the "beats audio" effects, and delete Beats or im going replace this one and restart my laptop search.

A somewhat unrelated but OS related issue,  is there anything to be done about windows 8 features on this PC regarding finding the start menu,  has windows made an update to fix the lack of the desktop start menu as in previous versions such as vista xp 7 ect. ???  Proceedures for finding the files  i transferred to it are clunky and dumbed down by the provided methods in my opinion.  Secondly unrelated to the two other issues, I guess Im not a fan of the single combo of clicking device and touchpad.  But those last two things aside may not have been enough to make me take this computer back.  The first however. :(

Bottom line for me .... Not a pleasant purchasing experience thus far, lets see if we can fix this.

Thanks in advance for your help
