I'm not sure this is the correct place to post this.. I have a 2009 HP Pavilion DV6-3033D Entertainment Notebook (Intel i5, 2.4GHz, 4GB HD, 64-bit OS Windows 7 Home Premium). The problem is so serious that I thought the built-in speakers were "broken" though discovered accidentally that they are not. I have uninstalled the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and then it reinstalls automatically though I've tried manually installing the SP43935 and SP59291 packages (they crash out w/errors at the same time the pc is reinstalling its own codec. I have tried "Restore To Factory Condition" a number of times and still the sound does not work. I have powered down the machine, removed the battery, held down the power button, then rebooted and (tried to manually) reinstalled the codec but still no sound. The reason I know the internal speakers work is that during one of these attempts, I switched the device "Independent Headphones" on the volume mixer and there would be perfect sound for a few seconds each time I clicked on the volume control. I do not have external speakers or an external microphone. I could not see where to post this, but I did see how to send you a private message. Thanks so much for any help. Much appreciated!
