Hi,
I am having trouble getting full surround sound from some 5.1 Logitech speakers I bought. I connect the speakers to the laptop via the headphone jack on the laptop. The front left, front right, front center, and subwoofer are all working perfectly. The rear left and rear right speakers are producing sound of a noticeably lower quality and volume.
I have a HP pavilion DV6t Quad Ed. laptop with beats audio integrated. I have tried clicking on the speaker icon on system tray and manually changing my Playback device configuration from Stereo to surround sound but there is no option other than Stereo to choose from. Under device manager I found that my sound card is IDT High Definition Audio. I am pretty sure my Laptop's sound card can play 5.1 surround sound as it is only a year old and very high end. I can not find any way of making my HP laptop recognize that I have 5.1 surround sound speakers. The computer only recongizes up to 2.1 on sound tests.
Any help appreciated.
