Hey guys and girls.. sorry to bore you all with another Audio problem.. no doubt you get enough and it ends up being a simple fix. BUT, I have tried everything... apart from a fresh install of Windows, as I really don't want to do that. I'm sure there must be a fix.
So... had the laptop a couple of years now, beginning of this year, I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.. has been superb and faultless for the past 10 months until last week. I run my laptop very clean, bare minimal programs and features to keep things simple and fast.
So after leaving the laptop one evening, closing it down as you do, waking up in the morning turning it on to find out the audio says 'no audio output deivce installed' brilliant I thouht, just re-install the driver or update it.. well... my first attempt didn't work (installing a fresh driver) due to not having the driver appear in the 'device manager' section. Nothing in the deivce manager to do with sound at all. So again, I searched some fourms and tried to install Realtek HD Audio, which appeared to work for all of 5 minutes and then stop and go back to the same problem. I have tried re-installing Realtek and it hasn't worked again.
I have tried many of the fixes which people talk about on the HP Fourms... many many different audio drivers, which I now get the error of 'could not find the deivce for this driver' OR 'could not find the media device for this driver'...
Also, my Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter is error code 10, which I have also tried to fix, but haven't been sucessful as of yet. I don't know if this could be effecting it.
Laptop is a HP Pavillion DV9700 - DV9821ea, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Could it be a matter of taking my sound card out and re-seating it?
Any help/solutions would be greatly appreciated. It's really working me up! No doubt it will be something so simple.
Thanks guys&girls,
Freddie
