I was live recording directly from DJ mixer into my laptop stereo input so as to avoid external sounds (squeaking etc..). My recordings were 'OK' but I kept getting transient noise and clicks, pops etc. Then in a quiet moment, I realized I could faintly hear local sounds.

I had right clicked on the speakers at the task bar, followed by recording devices, what opens next is a page with 3 options

1. Headset mic (which is currently unavaiable)
2. Internal Microphone Array (which i have disabled)
3. Stereo Mix (enabled)

How do i avoid other sounds to get recorded. I just need the music out from DJ mixer and not other surrounding sounds (electric fans, People, etc)

I plug RCA (red n white cable) into my mixer whereas 3.5 mm jack to laptop. Software used for recording Soundforge or Audacity.
