Hi,
Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv6t-1100 CTO Entertainment Notebook
Operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Laptop Bluetooth hardware: HP integrated Bluetooth module, driver version 6.1.7601.17889
Speaker: Creative D200 Bluetooth Speaker (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003N9PJDI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I can connect this speaker to my smartphone, which is all I really need, but it'd be preferable to also connect this to my laptop. Here are the steps I take and the error I receive.
I successfully connect the speaker to my laptop via Bluetooth connection. However, during the connection process I am notified that I cannot stream any audio to the speaker due to the need for a driver update. Running the Windows troubleshooting wizard on the device prompts me to go to the Broadcom website to download a driver update: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php
Once I download the driver and run it, the driver installation doesn't proceed and I see this message: "This program cannot upgrade your software. Please contact the manufacturer of the Bluetooth device for support." So, here I am. According the Creative website, the speaker does not have its own driver software (question #7 on this page: http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=87783).
Thanks for any help.
