My HP 13-m110DX Split x2 (aka 2-in-1) laptop has a single 3.5 mm/1/8" jack for stereo audio output and monophonic microphone audio input.

From my readings in other posts on the Discussion Boards I understand that this jack receives a TRRS 4 conductor plug that is wired as follows to yield left & right audio channels output and a monophonic microphone audio input.

TRRS = Tip, Ring 1, Ring 2, Sleeve:

  • Tip - Left channel output
  • Ring 1 - Right channel output
  • Ring 2 - Microphone input
  • Sleeve - Ground or return

Further readings on the web indicate there are a number of different ways these jacks may be wired (e.g. Apple, GPS, Ham Radio, etc.).

  1. Can you confirm that I have the correct wiring and signal names for my computer's TRRS jack?
    and, if possible,
  2. Can you supply an HP reference that documents the wiring and signal names for my computer's  TRRS jack.

Thanks!!!!
