Okay so I'm having a similar isue to what a few people have been having where the audio randomly stopps working from both speakers and headphone jacks, despite the fact that the mixer says audio is playing.
I have seen the solution posted by DavidPK that seems to work for everyone who tries it, but there is a twist...
I no longer have a working beats button!
After a repair job from a certified HP repair place, I found that the volume slider and the beats button no longer worked. I openned it up to find that when they were putting everything back together they snaped the ribbon cable that goes from the button to the motherboard... I never got around to getting it fixed and I couldn't find a place to order that specific part.
Anyway..
This means that when I get to the point in DavidPK's instruction to do a hard reset (hold power button and beats button for 10 secs) I can't do it.
So, is there a way around this?
Can I do a hard reset without the beats button?
Is it completely necessary?
Would really appreciate some help as I need sound for my uni work!
