I have no sound on my HP ENVY TS Sleekbook 4 E0R58EA#ABU Windows 8
I tried doing a restore but the earliest date it gave me to choose from was earlier this month whereas the problem has been going on for several months. Initially, once I did a hard shutdown, the sound would come back on when I restarted but then later it would disappear again. YouTube and embedded videos no longer play. And I am getting pop ups all the time with many words on a page with double underlines leading to more ads.
I have Kaspersky anit-virus installed and that has picked up no virus.
Desperate for help.
