Hello friends. Out of the blue this afternoon my headphone jack stopped working. The speakers work just fine however, and I checked the headphones with several other devices to confirm that they work. I'm using a HP Pavilion m6 Notebook PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.
I reinstalled both the AMD High Definition Audio Device and the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC with no dice. Another thing I tried to do was set the headphones as the default playback device, but Windows wouldn't allow me to do that for some reason.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I was looking online and the only thing I haven't tried was a system recovery, and I really don't want to do that.
