No sound again on HP Pavilion

Hi,  a little help would be good please.  There is no sound coming from the speakers or earphone jack on my laptop.  

I understand this may be down to some update that auto loads onto the laptop but not sure.

I am not grerat at techincal things but any help understanding how to fis it would be brilliant.
