just switched on laptop and speakers dont work even tried updating that idt thing have no ideas?!!

i tried downloading IDT and looked like it hadnt worked when i check and play sound the sound bar going up and down as though something is playing but nothing coming out. i even tried headphones still nothing. Any ideas?
