Audio outputs mono instead of stereo

Hello. I'd like to address a problem I've been having for quite some time now. For starters, I have an HP Envy dv7-7255dx in my possession. Now I'm not sure when the problem started, but when I looked into things, I noticed that the laptop (or maybe it's the audio driver that's giving me a headache) isn't play stereo sounds. For instance, when I configure the audio setup, I can hear the L speaker sound, which is supposed to be L-channel-exclusive, on my R speaker. I also used my headphones while testing this, and I got the same result.

What should I do to fix this? And has anyone else experienced the same problem?

To add, I can discern that the driver is TRYING to separate the channels (The L-channel-exclusive sound does sound louder on the L speaker). What I want to know is why it doesn't separate completely and if it can be remedied.
