Windows Media Player

Hello,

 I have an HP Pavillion with a Windows 8 system. The Windows Media Player won't play. I get an error message, C00D11B1. I have tried to find the Device Manager but can't locate it on (this darn) Windows 8 platform. I'm supposed to expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers and search for Windows Media Player to see if it is disabled. However, I can't find that path. Can you help or is there a number I should call. I do have a policy with HP for technical service.
