HP Pavillion dv7-6140ew
Windows 7 Home 64-bit
Hello,
I’d like to sincerely ask you for help. Yesterday I encountered a following problem. I was listening to music when the creaky noise interrupted it. After that, the sequences of music were ‘interweaving’ with the mute breaks. Finally, after 2-3 minutes, the speakers stopped to work.
What I found curious about this case is the fact that the speakers began to work properly when I plugged the headphones in (mini jack)… or at least they worked fine until I plugged these headphones out. On the other hand, when these headphones are connected to the computer and the sound is coming out of speakers, the headphones do not work and there is no way to turn them on. I’ve also tested them by connecting to the mobile. They are fine, I’m sure. These aren’t two separate problems.
I have restored the system, re-installed the drivers, updated the software via hp support assistant. Separately, I restored default configurations for sound devices. When I tried to investigate the problem via “Sounds” the diagnoses found no errors, and according to the system, including the sound test, everything works as it should work. Still, there is no sound.
I’m also pretty sure that it isn’t caused by the physical damage of the line input, since the situation repeated while I tried all of three inputs, even those that I have never used.
What may be the cause(s) of this problem and what can I do about it? To be honest I do not know even whether it’s a physical damage or not… hope that it's something connected with software though…
Best regards,
Mike (‘Interista’)
