Hello,
For the past few days, my laptop has had no sound!
Intially it was just embedded videos that wouldn't play e.g. YouTube, but now no sound will play whatsoever.
I've tried following HP's advice here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&docname=c03515411 but no option has resolved the issue.
The only step that I couldn't quite follow through was when testing if the speakers were working - when I try to do point number 7 under Step 4 (i.e. Go to Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Sound --> Configure --> Test to test the sound through each of the left and right hand speakers, an error message comes up along the lines of 'the device is being used by another application, please close this and try again'... which makes no sense as I'm not running anything else!
