My laptop hp pavilion g6 operating on windows 8 suddenly stopped producing any sound what so ever from notification sounds to playing videos on the browser, and all media forms won't work, not videos nor music. tried windows media player, real player and the default player from windows 8
Windows media player error: Windows media player encountered an error while playing the file
Real player: A general error has occured
Music app error: Can't play , 0xc00d11cd (0x887d0002)
Also, Skype won't make any calls and says : problem with playback device
PS: it is an on and off thing sometimes there is the issue sometimes there is no issue.
