I have a new Envy TouchSmart notebook (m6-n012dx Notebook PC), and the headphone audio is excessively loud. I have to listen to music at 1% volume in both the audio mixer and the music player for it to be a reasonable level and even then it's loud enough to drown out pretty much everything around me. It's so loud that 20% volume played through my headphones is clearly audible from the next room. I've checked for driver updates, used the control panel audio mixer troubleshooter and searched through the forums for a solution, but haven't had any luck. The actual notebook speakers work at an appropriate level, so I think that there might be some issue related to the beats audio trying to treat my headphones as a speaker, but that shouldn't be affecting the volume to this degree. Are there any ways to fix this myself?
Thanks,
-Joe
