My internal microphone quit working 9 months after I purchased my HP Envy. I have called HP numerous times since then and still no help. Today I spoke with four different people eventually working my way up to a supervisor. The second person I spoke with said she had in front of her the record of my previous calls, beginning before my warranty expired.
The supervisor (fourth person I spoke with) said they had NO record of my ever calling before and would charge me $99 to diagnose the problem (which I already know what it is) and $45/month for an extended warranty to fix the problem.
BEWARE HP. I urge everyone not to purchase an HP product. They have out-sourced their tech support, you can barely understand the person you are talking with, and they refuse to honor their warranty. Buy ANYTHING but HP.
