I recently deleted my IDT audio driver whilst cleaning up my programs. I didn't think I had seen it before, didn't seem familiar so I uninstalled it.
Now after I did this my sound carried on fine for about 5 days, it is only today that my sound has suddenly gone and my speaker icon is telling me I don't have the driver for my hardware. After some google-ing I now know what I've done wrong, but I cannot for the life of me get this driver reinstalled.
My product number is LL050EA#ABU. It's a Pavilion dv6 entertainment notebook.
Things I have tried are:
Using HP Support Assistant, which informs me the driver is missing, but it gets to the installation stage and instead of ticking it off, leaves it with a greyed X next to the operation.
System Restore to before I uninstalled the driver, but it's not working with Windows 7 telling me it cannot be done and my AV is stopping it. I tried again switching my AV off and still no luck.
Recovery Mnager from the All Programs, which I followed from "http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01868333&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN" but this tells me I have to uninstall the driver before I can reinstall it. Which is quite contradictory :/
I've tried updating through the Device Manager, but upon installing it says access it denied and I must visit the manufacturer's website to download the driver.
I've downloaded the driver from your website but upon installation I get an error message saying that the driver isn't for my hardware, but this is the driver that your website tells me is for my laptop as my Support Assistant directed me to that page of drivers that are specifically for my notebook.
So I've tried alot of different things and I'm out of ideas. Any feedback or suggestions would be great.
Thanks.
