Sound/Internet Touch Pad Working By Itself

I have a HP Pavillion dv6, using Window's 7

For about a year now the volume/internet touch pad has worked by itself. I was told on a tech forum to keep doing a 'hard reset', but this problem is happening a couple of times a day now, and I wondered if HP have finally released a permenant fix for this common problem?
