HP Pavilion zd8333cl conexant AC-97 driver for Windows 7

I recently came across this post:

I tried some of the solutions for my HP Pavilion zd8333cl laptop, but nothing worked.  I'm not sure what the original XP driver was for this machine, and I'm wondering if I found it and applied the suggested edits, if it would work.  However, the edits haven't worked with some of the other drivers that I tried for Conexant AC-97.  Any suggestions?
