Can't record streaming audio on HP Pavilion DV6704nr

Hi there,

I am trying to record streaming video and audio with a variety of programs (BB FlashBack Express Recorder, for instance).

So far recording live streaming video on the internet was a success. My problem is that I can't record streaming AUDIO.

The only options that I get when selecting "input" for audio recording are "line in" and "microphone". No "stereo mix".

So I am stuck. What do I need to do?

System info:

HP Pavilion laptop, DV6704nr

Running on Windows XP SP3 32 bit   (original computer came as Vista, I downgraded it to XP, running smoothly and fast for years)

4gb RAM memory

Sound card driver: Conexant HD Audio AudioSmart 221 v3.47.0.0
