Sound cutting out at loud volumes

I have recently purchased the HP Stream Laptop 11. Straight out of the box, the sound only works properly if at volume 41 and below.

Above that, it cuts out, so that videos cannot be watched, or music listened to. The sound works perfectly if headphones are plugged in.

I have troubleshooted the problem, and updated.

I would appreciate any help, otherwise will have to send the product back.
