I am operating an HP Pavilion dv6 Artist Edition. I bought it in 2009 and a few months ago the audio stopped working.
There is a red circle over top of the sound icon in the toolbar with a white 'x'.
When I try to open the volume mixer it says that "No audio device is installed".
When I go to the device manager, the "High Definition Audio Device" and "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" both say that they are working properly and that the software is up to date.
Anyone idea how to fix this? Thanks.
