The driver situation is seriously starting to anger me.

Ok, my ENVY 15-j053cl notebook came with a pre-installed 6.3 (something...) IDT audio driver.  Sound comes through the speakers, but not in the headphones.  My headphones work on other devices and they make that distinctive pop when you plug them in.  I have ruled out fault in either the headphones or 3 point jack.

Tried the 6.10.6491 model driver on HP's site.  Still nothing in the headphones.  Once again, the speakers work and the levels are bouncing, but it simply refuses to divert the audio to the headphone jack.

I've completely deleted and restored the sound driver and chip from my computer and I've gotten rid of the BEats software. (I don't care about having an extra set of volume controls...)

I've been researching and trying to make this work for almost a week and it's really truly infuriating.  I've found other users with similar issues who have tried altering different settings (turning of fast start up worked for some) and I assure you I've looked at every single box there is to tick in this computer.

Somebody from HP, please please help.  I'd love to avoid a factory reset, because that's a lot to deal with and if wiping the sound entirely and reinstalling didn't do it, I don't see the point in reseting my entire system.

Thanks.
