Hello everyone.
I am very excited that I just got an HP Envy Touchsmart 15 -jo53. It is a factory refurb, but there is no sound coming from the headphones.
I've been searching for days and NOTHING will allow me to set the headphones as the default audio device.
Things I've tried:
-upgrading to Windows 8.1
-unchecking the "fast start up" option (some people have said this works)
-driver update
-checked all audio levels everywhere. The sound is moving and the bars are jumping, it's just not getting piped through the head phones.
I've got the beatsaudio software and am running an IDT hi def audio codec for the driver/sound card. Once again, I've got sound (it comes through just fine in the onboard speakers and my headphones work with other devices)...just not in my headphones.
I would try reinstalling the driver, but if anybody could supply a trustworthy link, that may help.
