when skyping my voice is at a very low volume. Callers can barely hear me.

I have an HP Envy running on windows 8,when i try to skype or call from this computer i can see and hear my caller byt they can barely hear me. My skype audio test says skype is working perfectly so it must be the computer. can anyone help pleaase
