i had headphones problem atfirst but i tried all the ways i have read from the discussion from hp forums but couldnt find any solution for the headphones to work till when i had installed IDT and made a mess on my speakers but the headphones work
i use hp elitebook 8440p window 7 with 32bit

My year-old HP Pavilion laptop has started having sound issues. When I first turn it on, no sound. When I restart, the sound is back. Switch off again and the problem recurs. What could be the problem?
I seem to have lost my pre-installed SRS Premium audio from my HP Probook 4530's. I updated my system to Windows 8.1, but due to the instability of the update on my system I downgraded back to Windows 8.0, using the installation disc. So now I no longer have the SRS premium software that originaally came pre-installed. Does anyone know of a way I can get it back?
I have no sound coming from Notebook for the last 3 days. Model number is E6F84PA#ABG, only purchased a few months ago. Indicators show the sound is on at 50% and working! Any help appreciated.
All of the sudden my computer stopped making any sound at all. When I when through the troubleshoot scenario, nothing changed. When I tried to test my speakers I kept getting a message that the audio was being used by another application that needed to be closed. Problem is there was no other application running. I can't run the test, the computer thinks everything is okay, yet I still have no sound. Any clue??
Hi...my very very elderly aunt bought the G6 2103AX laptop but just couldnt get her head around Windows 7
and asked me to install Win XP on it. Rather than wipe win 7 i set up a seperate partition
with XP on it...and after much work and many hours got it all up and running with the exception of sound.
Try as i might the laptop says no audio device detected and i cant find anything on line in the way of drivers that will make it work. I even did the add new device thing under control panel and it says it finds the HD audio and does some installing
(well it did it once) but still nothing shows up under audio devices. No volume icon in try. The sound card section
of device manager shows shows AMD high def audio device and says its working but the sound section of control panel shows nothing. Please help me as she has spent alot of money on this laptop and it has sat for nearly a year
un used as she cant fathom win 7 and is too old to learn (well i dont think so but she has convinced herself its too hard)
Im desperate to get this going for her as to be honest i just want to be rid of it and i cant give it back with no sound as she
wont be able to do much with it. is there ANYTHING you can recommend? many thanks

I'm not sure if it's caused by the Windows 8 update from a few days back, but the problem started around then.
The audio on my laptop is not working. The mute stays on, even when I press the physcial keyboard button to enable sound, and try to enable sound with my mouse from the volume menu. Nothing has audio.
Laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC running Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit.
I've seen some other people mentioning a problem like this recently. Any help would be appreciated.

I am running Win 8.0 and my sound driver IDT HD Audio is not working correctly. Sound doesn't work at all.
My laptop model number is 2CE3281QBL
serial number is 2CY46AV
Performed master reset on my laptop but have the same issue.
Installed the new drivers but same issue exists.
Rolled back the driver and yet this issue exist is not solved.
Can you please tell me what the issue is and the solution for it. Tried everything. The only way it works is to disable and re-enable the sound device to make it work. After I try to wake the laptop up from sleep mode, this happens again. Please give me a solution for this.

i am using hp pavilion 15-e039tx.64-bit operating system.Intel Core i5
The problem i am facing is that the audio stops working all of a sudden. I cant play any music or video.Sometimes the problem goes away if i restart the pc. But i want a permanent solution for it.

i have encountered a problem in my notebook. i am unable to listen any of the sound of the media file. to find solution i tried to check the sound properties from control panal but still i am unable to listen sound in my pc. hope for positive response
while doing some other jobs on lap when we try to play music there won't be nay audible sound. when i click the volume controller placed in the corner tab there too have any sound. it will be available if i restart my lap. i need a solution for this. thank you in advance.
Yesterday the sound/speakers stopped working on my laptop. Tried using itunes, spotify, youtube etc and i don't get sound from any of them. When i tried to play a song in spotify i get a notification saying "There is a problem with your sound card. Spotify can't play music.". I'm still getting the problem today and i don't know if it's a problem with the beats software or a HP software problem.

Hi, my latop which i've had since Febuary of last year has started having some hardware failure with the headphone jack, i'm having to prop my headphones into position with tape to get it to play through the headphones rather than headphones and speakers at the same time.
I'm wondering if there's anyone who could tell me what the cost of repairing this would be or where I could get this fixed, my warranty expired in December but has been sent off for repairs within its warranty

I have had my Notebook a little over a week now and the audio is awful. It is a HP Pavilion TS 15 Notebook PC.
I noticed a crackling, stuttering almost robotic sound on the day I bought the device but thought nothing of it and just presumed it was the video quality I was watching, however, the problem still carried on with any application or program that produces audio. It is getting worse and worse.
I have even refreshed my computer and lost all my applications. It did not help one bit.
All of my drivers are thouroughly up to date.
I have Windows 8.1 64-bit which came preloaded on my computer. I have searched endlessly across the net and I have come to the conclusion that it isn't just me with the problem but a whole range of people with one thing in common, they are all HP.
I am getting very frustrated with it now as it is becoming almost impossible to watch or listen to anything.
The problem also persists through my earphones also, I've looked through the forums and some people were saying that the audio output was fine though earphones.
I also saw that when people unplug their AC adaptor the problem goes away, in my case it doesn't. No matter what I do I can't seem to fix it.
Any ideas?

I am not able to hear the sound from my laptop but the same will be working with the earphone when i am connected to any call in Skype.
I have already tried to uninstall in device manager and rebooted the system but did not work .
